PSC receives no government funding and is not affiliated with the federal interagency partnership of the same name. We receive no foundation support. We depend on people like you for financial survival.

Your donation helps us do a lot with a very low budget. We rely on volunteers for over half of the work we do, and we receive donated services from a number of companies, including Vertical Response and Sales Force.
By donating today, you help us do the following:
- Educate city officials and opinion leaders about the benefits of compact, transit-oriented development and the provision of housing affordable to all income groups near jobs and public transportation for making our communities more environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable.
- Advance efforts to reduce GHG emissions by disseminating best practices on reforming state and local land use policy and encouraging financially viable approaches to green building and retrofits.
- In California, work to realize the potential of the sustainable communities planning process mandated by SB 375 and AB 32 through the California Campaign for Sustainable Communities and the distribution of the quarterly journal Sustainable Communities of California.
- Provide a comprehensive online clearinghouse of news and information on sustainable development, land use, and GHG emissions from the built environment, including policy information for cities and design, finance, and strategic material for developers.
- Help affordable housing developers win entitlements, reduce the delay and cost of the land use and design approval processes, and counteract NIMBYism by providing free advocacy and communication tools and advice and by educating officials about the environmental and economic benefits of affordable housing development.
- Conduct and disseminate research on the economic benefits of sustainable and green development for cities; obstacles to mixed-use, infill development, and how to overcome them; and making suburban areas less car dependent and more compact and walkable.
- Encourage economic revitalization and reuse of existing infrastructure in older cities.
